One of Main Street Iowa's goals is to spark economic development and private business investment into Iowa's business districts. For ten years, Colfax Main Street through the help of Main Street Iowa have been the catalyst for downtown transformation and economic development for Colfax, Iowa. In 2018, Colfax Main Street reached the milestone of $3 million worth of private and business investment in it's downtown core. Much of this money has went towards facade renovations of historic buildings, towards improvement of existing businesses, and towards the development of new businesses. On March 8, 2019 delegates from Colfax Main Street attended the Main Street Iowa awards in Des Moines and received recognition from Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds and Lt. Governor Adam Gregg for this milestone achievement. Colfax Main Street would like to sincerely thank it's downtown businesses and investors for helping our program and city reach this financial goal. We're hoping for many more years and partnership with our great businesses and leaders!
